This past August 18, in his native Colombia (Palermo, Huila), Father Carlos was ordained to the priesthood after having completed his formation with the Missionary Servants of the Poor. The ordination took place in Colombia to allow Father Carlos’ large, extended family to share this important celebration with him. Father Alvaro and Father Agustin attended representing the Missionary Servants of the Poor.
Father Carlos has returned to the City of Boy where we was joyfully greeted by the priests, brothers, boys, and collaborators. The boys greeted the new priest with the typical Andean carpets usually made with flower petals but, it being winter in Peru, they used dyed sawdust instead.
After having visited all the Missionary Servants of the Poor communities in Cuzco to celebrate masses of thanksgiving, Father Carlos is now working as the head of the Saint Aloysius Gonzaga House of Formation in the City of Boys.
We give thanks to God for this blessing of a new priest for the Church, for the Missionary Servants of the Poor, and for the poor. We ask your prayers for the ministry of Father Carlos and that he may be quickly followed by many holy young men ready to give their whole lives to God in the service of the poor.
