The Missionary Sisters of the Poor have synchronized community life with a life of prayer, characterized by a great love of the Eucharist and of the Virgin Mary, with a profound sacramental life and service to the poor, showing great affection towards orphaned, abandoned and/or disabled children, and also to the poor of the Peruvian Cordillera, taking to them the great news of the Gospel.

They serve the poor in the following centres:

The mother house “Santa Teresa” in Cuzco, where they take in the youngest poor children and many children with physical and mental disabilities of different levels of seriousness; it is also a house where the bigger girls can grow in a healthy environment in every respect.

The House “Santa Teresa de Jesus” in Lima, open in the capital city of Peru to take in poor children who come from the Cordillera to undergo delicate surgery, and also to allow the sisters to complete their formation.

Centre of assistance in several villages of the Andean Cordillera of Peru (Cusibamba, Punacancha, Rumichaca) where their principle commitments are: food halls for children and adults, catechesis and preparation for the sacraments, weekly visits to nearby villages, and the teaching of religion in schools.
