After a few days of being completely disconnected from civilization, without drinking water, without electricity and without any kind of basic sanitation, we returned to our home in the city of Cuzco. We returned "smelling of the sheep" very happy for the privilege of living for a few days with the "other Christs," the poor.
Our missionary heart overflows with joy, because the number of towns we serve on mission is increasing. The Gospel reaches more people!
We began our mission in Canay and Pachamachay and our goal is to also reach Cochacochayoc. These are small towns that belong to the district of Challabamba in the province of Paucartambo. Since it is our first time in these towns, we start from scratch, we visit people in their homes, we pray with them, and we do various activities in the small churches that each town has. Everyone participates with enthusiasm. The people have a unique piety and a great hunger for God, the chapels are overflowing with people, and they like to sing and dance to praise God in their own language, Quechua.
Loving the poor as God loves them is a fruitful path to obtain the greatest of riches, the encounter with Him who “being rich, became poor” (2 Cor 8:9). Among the poor, we always receive more than we give.
