The Saint Agnes Student Residence, run by the MSP Sisters, is located in Santa María-Larapa, Cusco. It is a home that welcomes girls and adolescents from various places, many of whom come from difficult family situations. Here, they receive spiritual, personal, and intellectual formation, as well as meals, schooling, and opportunities for recreation, such as outings and social activities.
This year, we have welcomed 25 girls and young women who stay at the residence during the school term, from March to December. During this time, in addition to continuing their studies, they assist with various household activities, helping out in the children's room, the kitchen, and the bakery.
Their spiritual formation is nurtured through weekly catechesis in preparation for receiving the sacraments of Christian initiation. They also join the Sisters in celebrating Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and praying the Holy Rosary.
In April, some of them joyfully received the sacraments of the Eucharist and Confirmation.
The students attend the Saint Maria Goretti School and also receive technical training in cooking, computer skills, ceramics, weaving, and handicrafts, thereby strengthening their skills for the future.
In May, they took part in a mission to a community high in the mountains where they shared a time of evangelization dedicated to the Virgin Mary with local families. They also served hot chocolate and bread, and distributed blankets and hats to those most in need.
During the Solemnity of Corpus Christi in June, they participated with deep faith and joy in the procession of the Blessed Sacrament, which made its way through various areas of our home. As a sign of their love for Jesus in the Eucharist, they prepared one of the altars for the celebration. Also in June, they experienced a day-long retreat—a time of silence, prayer, and encounter with the Lord—which allowed them to renew their faith and strengthen their relationship with Christ present in the Eucharist.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our benefactors, whose generosity makes it possible to provide new opportunities for formation and growth to our girls and young women. May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to shower abundant blessings upon each of them and upon all those who make this beautiful mission possible. May the Saint Agnes Student Residence continue to be a place where faith, hope, and love flourish.
