This is the place of formation for young men of different nationalities, who, after an experience of at least one year in our missions, have felt the call to give their whole lives to God in the service of the poorest and are formed intellectually and spiritually in the charism of the Movement.
In the Holy Mary Mother of the Poor House of Formation, the young men do three years of postulancy (one year of preliminary studies and two years of philosophy). After completing the novitiate, they do four years of post-novitiate formation in the same house, during which time they do their four years of theology.
The House of Formation also offers other young men the opportunity of sharing the spirituality of the Missionary Servants of the Poor for several days. During the summer they offer courses in the Ignatian Exercises and also the chance to take part in an international camp. Both are open to young men who want to experience Christian fraternity and service in a serene missionary atmosphere.
