Mass on the anniversary of the death of our dear founder Father Giovanni Salerno

FEB 4, 2026

Last Sunday, February 1st, we celebrated with great joy and reverence the third anniversary of the passing of our beloved founder, Father Giovanni Salerno, who departed this world to be with God on February 4, 2023.

The celebration was presided over by our Vicar General, Father Walter Corsini, an Italian, and was attended by more than five hundred people, who, grateful for the Father's work and dedication, actively participated in the Eucharistic celebration. Afterward, a procession to Father’s grave took place, accompanied by the recitation of the Holy Rosary, where many people were able to pray. Following this, a fraternal lunch was offered to all, providing an opportunity for fellowship and community.

Father Giovanni Salerno always reminded us how a small "yes" can generate great good. He would say, "Consider the 'yes' of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, a woman of short stature, seemingly weak and insignificant in the eyes of the powerful; yet how her small 'yes' to God has fed more than five million people, and not only that, but has helped so many poor, needy people die in God's grace. In the same way, God wants to use our small 'yes' to work wonders in the midst of our families, our neighborhoods, our communities, and our countries. Let’s not be afraid to say ‘yes’ to God, for He will use it to bring light to so many poor people who do not know Him.”

Therefore, we thank God for the “yes” that Father Giovanni offered Him from his childhood, for it is thanks to that firm will to love Him that many of us have come to know God.
