During the Paschal Triduum, one of our priests, accompanied by a small missionary group, traveled through communities such as Colcaqui, Huancalle, Huata, and Yaquepata, bringing to them the most important celebrations of the Christian faith.
Amidst challenging roads and busy days, truly meaningful events were experienced: Holy Thursday with the celebration of the Last Supper; Good Friday with the Stations of the Cross in which the local population actively participated; Saturday night with the Easter Vigil; and Sunday with the joy of the Resurrection. In several of these villages, the participation of the faithful was invaluable—particularly because they do not always have the opportunity to have a priest present.
Holy Week is the heart of Christian life, as well as a call to go forth and encounter others—especially those who are often forgotten.
In these places—where people sometimes go only out of fleeting self-interest—the presence of the Church is experienced as accompaniment, service, and true commitment. Living the Paschal Triduum within these communities serves as a reminder that faith is strengthened when shared, and that proclaiming hope in the most remote corners remains an essential mission.
