In a brief but meaningful meeting, the Archbishop of Cusco, Msgr. Richard Daniel Alarcón Urrutia, visited the Monastery of Our Lady of Silence, located in the town of Qerowasi, Quispicanchi, Cusco, to show solidarity and to dialogue with the religious community.
The visit, which lasted approximately half an hour, was marked by warmth and simplicity. During the conversation, he told us about his great desire to enter the contemplative life. "I had always wanted to embrace the contemplative life after the age of 50, but the Lord had other plans," the Archbishop said. This detail, known to some members of the monastery, seemed to delight him, creating an atmosphere of mutual trust.
Before leaving, Msgr. Alarcón expressed his willingness to support the community. "You can count on my support for anything," were his farewell words, reaffirming his commitment to the religious and contemplative life of the archdiocese.
The monastic community of Qerowasi deeply appreciated his visit, which, although brief, was a tangible manifestation of our Archbishop's pastoral and spiritual accompaniment.
