The Extraordinary Mission group went on mission to Antilla, Trigo Orqo, and Collo, in the Apurímac. During this intense week of mission, we were accompanied by Nohemí, a young woman of Austrian nationality who is doing a missionary experience.
Throughout this year, we have been supporting several of our sick people: José María Huamani (32 years old), who suffers from cerebral palsy, and his 61-year-old mother, who is the only one who cares for him, doing everything in her power to give him the most stable and best quality of life. There is also Beatriz Borda, a 96-year-old woman, abandoned and without close relatives in the area. Francisco, a 42-year-old father of a family who suffered an accident last year and, as a result of three fractures in his spine, had to undergo the removal of a vertebra and have a prosthesis inserted in its place. Since then, he has suffered paralysis in his lower limbs and must use a catheter for the rest of his life.
During our visits, we try to strengthen their faith and hope in the midst of suffering so that little by little they can offer up their pain and hardships to Jesus Christ, who says to them: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
